Paccheri artisan pasta

Discover the allure of our paccheri artisan pasta, an iconic and beautiful Neapolitan pasta shape popular in Campania and southern Italy. Paccheri are wide, hollow tubes, about an inch in diameter, designed to capture and complement rich sauces. Imagine a sliced-up garden hose, and you have the idea! According to legend, Italian farmers invented paccheri at the beginning of the 17th century to smuggle garlic over the Alps into what is today Austria. In this way, they successfully evaded the import ban put in place to protect the Austrian garlic industry.

The hospitable shape of paccheri pasta lends itself to many recipes. In Naples, it's served with seafood, vegetable-based sauces and meat ragu, which work their way inside, packing the pasta with hearty, often garlicky flavours. Paccheri can also be stuffed and baked; it works well in oven-baked dishes, including cheese and rich tomato or fish sauces.

DiSanto's premium paccheri pasta is handmade using 100% Italian durum wheat semolina, while the traditional, slow-dried process ensures authentic flavour and texture, exceptional quality and taste that will elevate even the simplest pasta dishes. Unlike ordinary supermarket pasta, it maintains a superior texture, keeps its shape, and doesn't stick or clump together during cooking. Pasta perfection awaits.
