Green olive and turmeric tapenade

Typically served with bread, crostini or crackers, or as a dip for vegetables, this versatile tapenade may also be used as a topping for fish, meats and vegetables, but its rich flavours make it a hardworking ingredient in many other dishes, too.

Tapenade is a spread or dip made from olives and other ingredients such as herbs, capers, and anchovies. It originated in the Provence region of France and has since become a popular Mediterranean dish. DiSanto's chooses fresh, tangy green olives for quality, colour, and shape and then blends them with the warm, earthy, peppery notes of turmeric to make this authentic, rustic tapenade by hand.

DiSanto's green olive and turmeric tapenade is a beautiful spin on tapenade, which is more usually made with black olives. It's a quick way to conjure up delicious dishes and snacks (though it is fabulous in your favourite sandwich or wrap for an extra kick of sweet, peppery flavour). Stir it into pasta alongside a splash of extra-virgin olive oil and Parmesan, spread it on pizza, or use it as a marinade for chicken or tofu.
