Garlic-stuffed whole green Gordal olives

Gordal olives – also known as ‘Queen’ olives – are very large green olives from Spain. Firm and plump with a fruity flavour, these olives are delicious on their own as a simple tapas dish. DiSanto's garlic Gordal olives are stuffed with fresh garlic by hand - 'rellena de ajo' - for an intense hit of flavour.

The Spanish name for these green olives – gordal – comes from the word for ‘fat’, referring to their huge size. At around 6g each, they're one of the biggest olives in Spain and are therefore perfect for stuffing. Their relatively low fat content makes them less than optimal for making olive oil, so they are always eaten as table olives.

DiSanto's Gordal garlic-stuffed green olives from Seville are carefully selected by a small, local supplier for the ultimate olive taste sensation, then hand-stuffed with slivers of fresh garlic one by one.

Try serving these premium olives as an appetiser with a Martini or a dry sherry before dinner, or as part of an antipasto platter alongside cured meats, cheeses, chutneys and tapenades. They also complement chilli and anchovies. They make a delicious addition to gourmet salads, and can be used in cooking in myriad ways - for example, baked into focaccia or empanadas, or used to elevate pasta suppers. The fragrant and fruity flavours of garlic-stuffed Gordal olives will hold their own in any dish.
