Le Colline extra virgin olive oil

Extra-virgin olive oil is the purest, most natural and delicious form of olive oil, and a cornerstone of authentic Mediterranean cuisine. DiSanto's Le Colline extra-virgin olive oil is obtained from the pressing of green and/or veraison (ripening) olives. This oil is aromatic and flavourful, as well as being rich in polyphenolic substances which give the product its incredible anti-ageing properties. It features a slightly pungent, fruity taste, which is felt in the throat, representing an 'extra pinch of health'. Live long like the Italians, by embracing extra-virgin olive oil!

DiSanto's Le Colline extra-virgin olive oil comes from the family-run artisan producer Frantoio Vabro, which has grown olives on the slopes of Mount Amiata in southern Tuscany for generations. This 'liquid gold' comprises olives such as Leccino, Moraiolo, Pendolino and Correggiolo, which are cold-pressed within 24 hours of harvesting, so that the characteristics and nutritional values present in the fruit remain unchanged.

DiSanto's extra-virgin olive oil is the ultimate in taste and quality: a premium product, with complex, vibrant flavours. For this reason, many cooks save it for finishing dishes, drizzling and dipping, but there's no sound reason to do that. Extra-virgin olive oil is endlessly versatile, and can be used for baking, roasting, sautéing, pan-frying, or even blending into soups for a bit of extra creaminess. It is also fantastic for salad dressings, marinades, drizzling on finished dishes, and as an accompaniment to fresh bread.
